“And into the forest I go, to loose my mind and find my soul.”
John Muir
Since I was a kid, hiking has always been something special to me. I still remember countless holidays when I went with my family on dayhikes into some fantastic river gorges. The European Alps are close to our home in Germany and Austria or Switzerland are popular holiday destinations. I still own the hiking stick I used to have as a kid. It’s covered with all kind of metal badges from places all over the alps.
When I turned into a teenager I got busy with other things like school, friends and so on. I forgot about hiking for a while.
But a few years ago my passion for traveling around the world and also for hiking woke up again and I tend to find a certain kind of peace when I go out for a walk in the woods. The world that we live in develops fast and it turns out to be very stressful at times. No wonder I decided to escape the treadmill of “normal life” in 2016 to hike the Pacific Crest Trail.
This page is a collection of the best hikes I have done and it’s meant to grow! Whenever I get around to it I also sit down to write some informational stuff. It’s a series I call “Trail Tips” and you can find them as well on this page.
But apart from reading my blog there is one thing I can definitely recommend: Go out and hike!
